Not expectionally well this semester, but it has never been exceptional. Hahas.

There's alot catching up to do, catching up in life.

Laziness is my bane, I really think I need a mental makeover.

Been reading alot these days.

I am concurrently reading a book by Robert HagStrom "The Warren Buffett way" as well as a book co-written by Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki "Why we want you to be rich".

I read today, from the Warren Buffett way, something that I may take away and keep it for a long time (or at least I ought to). Hahas.

How do we see if a business is worth our time, worth our investment:
(extracted from the book)

Business:
1) Is the business simple and understandable?
2) Does the business have a consistent operating history?
3) Does the business have favorable long-term prospects?

Management:
4) Is management rational?
5) Is management candid with its shareholders?
6) Does management resist the institutional imperative?

Financial Standings:
7) What is the return on equity?
8) What are the company's "owner earnings"?
9) What are the profit margins?
10) Has the company created at least one dollar of market value for every dollar retained?

Value:
11) What is the value of the company?
12) Can it be purchased at a significant discount to its value?

After a long of not blogging, I impressed myself by still remembering my blog password! How amazing.

Time really flies. A wink of an eye and its already towards the end of 2010.
A quick look at what I have done for the year, was disappointing.
What did I accomplished in 2010? Relatively nothing.

But that shall not deter me from moving ahead...

Busy Summer

This summer has been... pretty hectic one.

Started working full-time as a Financial Consultant @ Prudential.
Don't know whether it was a right choice or not,
But nonetheless, there are skills that are valuable to have.

CCA and 2 Camps are draining away my time...

And Summer is actually coming to an end where it's the most packed. =(

Rather weary already... Haven't sleep well for 2 weeks and it doesn't seem like it's going to change for the better...

Then again...

You remind me of the happy times I have =)
For everything that drains me,

Wow. Quite a pleasant surprise for my results.
Did slightly better than expected.
Of cos, lower than hoped for. LOL.

As a result, my GPA DID raise by 0.09.

Wahahas.

But good... more good semesters...

So much for a study week. I only began my studies today.
All thanks to the fact that I only had 2 papers to go for.

Hahas. Not that they are light topics.
I'm plain lazy. I suppose.

Mug mug. I hope I do well.

(Then to slack and hope to do well.)

So much for wanting to do well in SMU...

Nearing Summer Semester

Seems like my semester is drawing to an end.

It's already the start of week 12.
Just 3 more weeks and it will be over.

Rushing reports for my projects.
Brushing up essays for my assignments.
Presentation all over.
Final examination stands in week 15.

This semester had certainly been a memorable one.
Not going into details exactly. But well.

How I look forward to the summer term break.

So much that I want to do during summer.

I got into SMU FTB 2009 Facilitating.
I applied for SMU ASOC Camp 2009 Facilitating. Hope I get it.
I want to learn more high level cheerleading stunts.
I want to do so much.
I want to sign up for random courses.
I want to go ice-skating.
I want to go cycling.
I want to catch sunrises and sunsets.
I want to take cable-car. I last took it in primary school I think.
I want to go shopping for next semester.

Need to buy more clothes...
Need to change my wallet...
Need to buy more bags...
Maybe can extort a crumpler from my parents.
Maybe can extort a business-like bag too.
Lols.
Yeah. I need more credit cards.

How evil I have become.
SMU has to be the culprit.
Hahas.

Anyway...
Rushy rushy...
Work never seems to end.
But yeah... Time is always managed by its users =)

Been reading and listening to some of quite interesting thing in discussion when i am bored from studying,it is regarding to the coming doomday.

Kinda interesting that it was predicted by many religions and race in the old and new world, like the Mayan, Chinese I-Ching and many others that a certain end will fall on the day of December 21th 2012.For more info, check out yourself...melvin is lazy to type.

Can't really say whether i believe it or not, but what will end will end. So no point being too bothered by it. =)

so whether it is real or fake, we will find out in about 3 years time.

DID I MARRY THE RIGHT PERSON?

During one of our seminars, a woman asked a common question. She said, "How do I know if I married the right person?"
I noticed that there was a large man sitting next to her so I said, "It depends. Is that your husband?"
In all seriousness, she answered "How do you know?"

Let me answer this question because the chances are good that it's weighing on your mind.

Here's the answer.
EVERY relationship has a cycle. In the beginning, you fell in love with your spouse / partner . You anticipated their call, wanted their touch, and liked their idiosyncrasies (unconventional behavior/habit).

Falling in love with your spouse wasn't hard. In fact, it was a completely natural and spontaneous experience.
You didn't have to DO anything. That's why it's called "falling" in love... Because it's happening TO YOU.

People in love sometimes say, "I was swept of my feet." Think about the imagery of that __expression. It implies that you were just standing there; doing nothing, and then something came along and happened TO YOU.

Falling in love is easy. It's a passive and spontaneous experience. But after a few years of marriage, the euphoria(excitement) of love fades. It's the natural cycle of EVERY relationship. Slowly but surely, phone calls become a bother (if they come at all), touch is not always welcome (when it happens), and your spouse's idiosyncrasies, instead of being cute, drive you nuts.

The symptoms of this stage vary with every relationship, but if you think about your marriage, you will notice a dramatic difference between the initial stage when you were in love and a much duller or even angry subsequent stage.

At this point, you and/or your spouse might start asking, "Did I marry the right person?"
And as you and your spouse reflect on theeuphoriaof the love you once had, you may begin to desire that experience with someone else.
This is when marriages breakdown. People blame their spouse for their unhappiness and look outside their marriage for fulfillment.

Extramarital fulfillment comes in all shapes and sizes. Infidelity is the most obvious.
But sometimes people turn to work, a hobby, a friendship, excessive TV, or abusive substances.

But the answer to this dilemma does NOT lie outside your marriage. It lies within it.
I'm not saying that you couldn't fall in love with someone else.
You could.

And TEMPORARILY you'd feel better. But you'd be in the same situation a few years later. Because (listen carefully to this):

THE KEY TO SUCCEEDING IN MARRIAGE IS NOT FINDING THE RIGHT PERSON; IT'S LEARNING TO LOVE THE PERSON YOU FOUND.

SUSTAINING love is not a passive or spontaneous experience. It'll NEVER just happen to you. You can't "find" LASTING love. You have to "make" it day in and day out. That's why we have the __expression "the labor of love." Because it takes time, effort, and energy. And most importantly, it takes WISDOM. You have to know WHAT TO DO to make your marriage work.

Make no mistake about it. Love is NOT a mystery. There are specific things you can do (with or without your spouse) to succeed with your marriage.

Just as there are physical laws of the universe (such as gravity), there are also laws for relationships.
Just as the right diet and exercise program makes you physically stronger, certain habits in your relationship WILL make your marriage stronger.
It's a direct cause and effect. If you know and apply the laws, the results are predictable... you can "make" love.

Love in marriage is indeed a "decision"...Not just a feeling.

Remember this always:

Living your days as though they are your last.

Seems like our blog became pretty desolated.

Time really flies.

Another semester to tackle.

This semester isn't the most ideal one I guess I will have.
Many modules that is filled with uncertainty.
Let's hope everything goes well for me.

I forgot. I don't hope. I will do well.

Many various commitments rise up along with this semester.

My schedules get so filled up pretty quickly.

Where does the route before me leads to?
So many paths to take.
So many decisions to make.
So much room for error.

Haha..kinda bored so i came to the land of blogging..
Having life science tomorrow but don't feel like studying at all...

It started with a kinda blurry screen then suddenly someone grabbed me to meet her parents...I remember it is a kinda weird feeling( can't really remember XD ) when i saw them..can't remember their faces but can clearly remember who brought me there

Finally, exams is gotta be over soon, with the exception of Life Science Mcq tomorrow and Physics on 24th.Currently, total not in the mood to study for life science...lol....

but well so far, i been pretty happy with the papers...except for maths...

What have education and knowledge done to us?

Humans, are intrinsically flawed.
Greed for knowledge goes the same for wealth, power and influence.

Purity seems to exist no more even for younger kids.

Long break in preparation of the last camp.

FTB Run 4 ended just 2 days ago. 15th Aug.
Quite a physically straining camp.
More wounds and cuts.
Old wounds that almost healed reopened =(

But then, looking ahead.
All was worthwhile. For the fun of it.

Operation Detail report.
Operation Night Eagle is a stealth mission that aims to seek and
secure objective Serra Mike. Preparation was done by 2000 and

Stage 1 was initated at 2040. Stealth route taken was Bukit Timah

QET is seperated into 2 parts namely, Editing (30%) and Essay (70%)

Editing passage was on 5 Rules of Effective Humanitarian Efforts.
Ok. Screw that =) Lols.

Essay was on 'Educatedness'. Whether our education system really turns one into an educated person. By Mohanan (I bet you didnt know who is he! Dont ask me either.)
He took an opinion of Educatedness totally on Intellectual dimensions, forgoing all other factors. So, quite a flawed and myopic perception to begin with.

I would say I wrote a pretty passable essay for my current standards. Lols. Not by global standards. So hopefully, everyone else wrote their sucky essay and mine wasnt THAT sucky. ROFL. GG.

Finally.
Back from the long awaited China trip 17th-24th Apr.

Jiangnan 8days tour.
Definitely an interesting trip for me.
Throughout this 8 days, we travelled to various provinces,
Namely - ShangHai, SuZhou, HangZhou, Nanjing, WuXi.
And also ZhuJiaJiao, part of ShangHai outskirt.

1st - ZhuJiaJiao, an old water village that has been preserved.
2nd - SuZhou, rather industrialised Silk, high technology factories.
3rd - HangZhou, the beautiful XiHu. Very scenic.
4th - Nanjing, an ancient capital of China, still preserving part
of the ancient city walls. Nanjing YangTse Bridge, China's pride.
5th - WuXi, Three-Kingdom city and TaiHu.
Along with natural pearls.
6th - Shanghai, yeah, shopping city like Singapore. =)

I shall spare the details and let the photos do the talking.
Hopefully.
I could find the time and energy to upload all my pictures. =)
Anyway. I suppose Eugene will be writing a brief recollection. =P
Until then, this is all I have. =(

Ah. Our tour as a CCO - Customer Care Officer came to an end on fateful 28/3.

Overall, this Singtel work has proven to be meaningful and useful.
I learnt that customers, no doubt valued and treasured, are quite stupid. =)
Rofl~!

Enough of those crap. Hai. Tired to give a gay speech over that.
Quite sad that it has all come to an end.
But then again, all things come to an end, in the end brings a new beginning.
Some important key factors to take note though.
Ppl whom I met there are really very kind and selfless people.
Ppl who are willing to teach me whatever they have to benefit me.
I greatly thank them for the time and effort given.
It shows me that humans, though strangers, can be selfless to one another.

Last day of work was almost a gift-exchange day.
We were busy delivering breakfast set to everyone in office.
On top of that, Meow, Gene and I bought even more gifts.
Though only for the selected few. (Well, if you consider 21 ppl as few.)
I would say that the money is well-spent for the purpose.
Indeed we came to work for the money, many of them were surprised.
But memories are what they given us. And is what we cant be denied of.

Work has been quite tiring. But fortunately. Ending a month in advance.
Brutely because, we are not required.
But nevertheless. It's a blessing in disguise.
We managed to get a overseas trip during NATAS air fair.
Going 8days china! During mid April.
Wow. Long trip actually. Hopefully, exciting and rewarding.

Maybe need to find work again. To fill up the period of peacefulness.

4 days of CNY break finally come to an end.

All good things come to an end. Just like CNY celebration.

Just came back from a much needed long distance run...
I guess the run was pretty good...
given me lots of time to think and reason out things..

ran from my house to nearly reaching bhss...that fateful bus stop...and i turned..
not wanting to go any further that i had already ran...somehow not feeling exhausted despite the distance...

I guess there was too much things on my mind...and somehow i lost focus on what i was supposed to be doing..

The heavy rain came just as i reach amk...but somehow i was pretty glad...it feel...refreshing..somehow..(and of course cold =X)

I think i needed something to woke me up...
and i am glad i did...went to run

the 2 and half hour run...was totally worth it...despite me not being able to identify whether i am drench in sweat..or rain..lolx
I guess i figured out something somewhere there in my head...

Actually i couldn't believe i am actually sitting down at my computer and typing this post.Somethings are simply unbelievable! =X

My precious external hard disk broke down...cannot link to the computer...(must be doing too many no-link things nowadays) hopefully i am able to recover the date inside....all the pictures...all that lost emotions..that i no longer felt( so far)..

Haiz. Working is tiring. Money not easy to earn.

This new year comes rather pleasant. Or probably very.

Alot of changes in life. Work, etc.
Finally started proper work in Singtel in the call centre.
Although I'm still under buddy-ing.
Well. Money isn't that easy to earn afterall. Lols.

31st.
Went to a family gathering. Sort of. And a birthday party for my cousin.
Concurrently. He's... 5? Well. I forgot. Rofl. Didnt actually ask.
After that went out for a little... night walk. Hahas.
Had a little... talk. And more night walk.
And did something rather crazy. But I'd like to do it again.
Probably. And again. Lols.

Yep. After that I crossed a little bridge to reach a busstop.
And wondered if I should join Meow, Yan, Elaine and Ks anot.
Finally. Elaine managed to persuade me over =) Lols.
Took the legendary 700A towards PS.
And YES LAR. When I reached PS, they told me we going Audrey's hse.
Fun. NEL to Boon Keng and started a short run.
Of cos, I didnt run nonstop. I'm a civilian afterall. Lols.

Been rather busy with work these few weeks.
Many incidents have happened. Probably too tired to list out.
But mainly...

- Had a happy Xmas celebration =) on the 24th.
Really glad to be able to enjoy half a day company with all.
We went to KTV after work. Havoc-ed alittle.
Before dinner-ing and watching a movie - Warlords.
The movie, which was quite a depressant for the occasion.
Lols.

- A sian 3/4 Xmas party =( on the 25th.

- 28th post-Xmas Class gathering
Quite an eventful day. Work whole day.
Before going to Elaine's hse for the overnight gathering.
Played several games. Lols. Seaweed. Omg. Fun.

Although it was a result of the random gift exchange.
Still must say thanks =) and for the organisation etc etc.

Sadly. These few days arent as wonderful as I thought it could have been.

Got my SMU matriculation card on thursday evening. Yeah.
Finally can call myself a SMU undergrad with that card.
Finally have access (which I probably wont be using) to SMU facilities.

But unfortunately. I failed my 1st TP test today. Bah.
Thanks to the - Failure to give way to traffic with right of way -
Immediate failure. Lols. Despite with 14 demerit points, I had to fail =(

Nevermind. I guess I just have to wait and wait again. For the next test date.

But guess what? Have to go back camp.

Nevertheless. Really excited. Cant wait to get out of army.
I was told, that people ORD and found themselves in a loss.

Finally. Today settle the problem of me being retrenched by the government.

3rd Dec I shall start work for Singtel already.

So anyone out there, dont call Singtel customer service just to find someone to vent your anger.

Spent almost whole day out today. Frantically completing my driving lessons.
Bookings after bookings... Omg. Driving till crazy soon.
Alot of $$ going out of my pocket soon.
So far, 19 lessons (including booked but not taken) and wow.
Nearly $700 spent. Purely on practical lessons.
Hopefully, on the 8th Dec, I'll perform =)

Hms. Wondering why I'm out here on a Tuesday? Oh. Now Wednesday already.
I'd just completed my ATEC last week.
Currently, have nothing on my training programme.
So they decided to deplete us of our leaves. Lols.

Nevertheless. It's a good way to destress after a tough fight.

These days... I do nothing at home except to play 2142.
That's... quite pathetic. But. It's too addictive. Hahas!
Began with me jio-ing meow. Continue with my bro watching me play.
Ended up with we all 3 playing. Rofl!

Fun. But we should not neglect things that are more important in life.
Gaming is undeniably our forte but that, should not limit us in our adventures =D

Wow. Today left camp rather early. Had these few days full of preparation for ATEC.

Had a Busy night...kinda still abit drunk now...Drunk too much i guess...feeling the after effects..Long time since i felt this way...

Had the Annual Dinner last night..i think it is at GrassRoots...or somethings..can't really remember...or should i say..bothered with it...We left early and headed to watch the Fireworks...though i hate to squeeze with people...but i must admit it is well worth it..haha..
So beautiful yet so short...i guess nice things doesn't last too long...

Was supposed to go zouk after that..but we end up going to Holland V for some weirds reason.. -_-"..I think that place is called "Wala wala"..
Live Band was not too bad...Atmosphere was good..Long time since i saw the rest of my team mates..and my juniors..all look so different now...all become rounder le..haha...i wonder studying too much mean people fat? oopz..but..Yanting, Elaine..still look the same...so i guess it varies with people bah =P

August is a busy Month for me..Having Army Half Marathon next sunday..haiz...need to go back to camp on saturday to settle the stupid Ahm thingy [ Since we are the organising unit this year ] So sadly can't go with the girls to the next gathering...Ps ar

Even the end of the month are packed..sadly, can't even go off..-_-"..Got to finish the Acct package..IPPT!

On a happier note, my lunar birthday according to my parents falls on the 7th day of the 7 month [ Nah, not asking for present or hinting anyway... ] ..it happen to be the Chinese Val day...the day where niu Lang will meet zhi nu once a year..so sweet! =X

Happy 42nd National day!

Finally another long weekend break.
Completed that gay endless walk. Just on tuesday.
Was damn tiring. Mentally challenging.
Try bashing in this stupid forest for 5hrs.
No light. Stupid terrain to walk on.
Omg. Ok. Work done is work done. Hahas.
Worse issue is completed already still want me to WALK somemore!
Lols.

Anyway. Today National day. 1st time held at marina bay area.
Wow. Their firework just cant seems to hide from my window view.
Still manage to catch the main firework at home. Hahas.

Haiz. Issit me or what. Seems like the national day's spirit...
Has dwindled in Singapore over the years.
I still remember scenes of many residents displaying flags.
Scenes of myself and relatives all eagerly going to NDP.
All these images are getting vague.
As I myself lost interest with the celebration mood once again.
Somewhat, I found myself asking myself.
So what's so great about national day actually.
So what if we have gain independence for the 42nd year?

It's good lar. Of cos. I also want our country to continue prospering.
But... At the end of the day. The purpose/meaning has somehow diminished.
It's just an excuse to celebrate. To party. And ya. Get out of camp.

Welcome back Meow. Hope you had enjoyed the trip.
It's an unfortunate case for me. For I'm unavailable to go for it. Sadly.
Hai. Wish I could be there. But wishes dont always come true.
Neither do they do it normally.

Back from my Bangkok Trip!!

Haha...Well, basically it is just shopping, shopping and more shopping...i guess the ladies love it..lolx..I kinda as well..lolx..

We( the 6 of us ) shared a cab around Bangkok...Yupz..i mean it..the six of us squeeze into one Taxi..lolx..It is only possible thanks to our slim and beautiful 3 ladies =)

I am starting to miss the small little moments of my army life experience..be it bad or good..it make up who i am today...Joy mixed with lots of helplessness, sadness...

Going off soon..at around 4am to Changi Airport to fly to Bangkok together with ks, yan, elaine, drey and yan's friend for a 4 days 3 night holiday..haha..somehow it remind me of my Atec...4 days 3 night..LOLx..I must praise myself for such wonderful imagination..

went to Golden mile complex to change my money to Thai currency..somehow, came to realise i got a direct bus[ Which is 70 ] from my house to Golden Mile..after around 4 years of canoeing at Kallang.. -.-"

Imagine this blithering idiot took an extra half an hour to go to Kallang everytime for my canoe session..like 4 to 5 times a week during Secondary school..changing 2 buses..Godlike..

but Nevermind..guess it is over le..just kind of felt stupid when i saw it on the board stating "Opp Golden mile" for.....5 seconds? =P

But the trip there was nostalgic, more on the pleasant side i guess..the competitiveness, the bond, the love..that was found and lost there..
but..hello there..memories are made up of good and bad ones...so i am being depressed here k..i am just glad i have the chance to experience what i had so far...

And i thanks everyone that ever made a impact in my life...and those who are still currently doing so..

Hms. Had driving lessons 3 days in a row already. So far, 5th lesson! Dare not say that I am good though.
But... Getting the hang of it. Should be alright with further practices.

Woot. Today shopping spree! I spent $198 (to be exact!). Omg. Bought 2 shirt (75), a collared shirt (49) and a jean (69+5 for alteration!). Lols. Didnt spend so much in a day for a very long time.
The last probably buying my cue stick. Hahas.

But nevermind bah. It doesnt hurt much to indulge once in a while. Not like I spent my money this way every day. Hahas.

Anyway... Sadly. Sun has guard duty and I have to book in by Sat night. Hai. Cant go for gathering again. Sianz. I've been missing out in alot of class gatherings le. Disappointed as well.
Simply cant wait for ATEC to be over. Then more free time would be available.

Hms. Had an unusually long weekend this week.
Was out on wednesday night le.
Reason? Probably a reward for doing our ATEC stage 1 well.
Got a low Recon 1 but still, better than not getting the 1 right? Lols.

Surprisingly, our CO who once said he didnt like to offer Offs as a dangling carrot gave us 2 days off =D
Hence the Thursday and Friday I would be home.

Well. Didnt do much yestheday. Rotted completely and utterly at home whole day.
With exceptions of me buying lunch and dinner. (That requires some motion.)

Anyway. Today is 20072007. Somehow, someone reminded me of the unusual date.
Furthermore, today got friend's birthday. Happy birthday to Shu Mei.
Despite the fact that she probably would never come here. Lols.

Later going to collect some DVDs from friend. All rise and applause to Cheng Yi.

Isnt a fantastic week except for Thursday.

On Tuesday

I marked his words. Hai.
Some stupid incident set the unhappy mood for the entire week.
Extras on the way =) Yeah. Lols.

The only possibly optimistic stuff that happened this week...
Was that I passed my Final Theory! Hooray! Hahas.
Applied for my PDL. Booked my Practical Test.
Found my Instructor. Got my 1st Practical lesson date. =D
So much in a day! In fact 3 hours!

Hopefully, next week the pace would be back to normal.
It's saddening to live with depressed people.

Celebrating Elaine's Birthday.

Yestheday was Elaine's 20th birthday. Yeah.
Happy 20. Reaching adulthood, no longer start with 1 le.

It was quite a secretive day.
To begin with, I was supposingly still on my Exercise Sea Hawk till Friday night.
Somehow, we RTU (Return to unit) eariler than expected. It was Thurs' night.
Friday was a tedious wait. Waiting to book out of camp.

Luckily. 1st trace of celebration began at 8pm. Where we are supposed to meet at City Hall.
Before then, we went to choose our cake and finish up whatever unprepared.

Took a bus to this - Zion Road. Near Great World City. A Hong Kong cafe restaurant.
Food was above expectation. Was expecting one of those nice name un-nice food replicates.
The host was also a great PR. Offered free desserts for the birthday girl and also included us.
They were willing to dim the lights for the occasion. And helped made the event a greater success.

After which we left by foot for a long march. All the way back to Somerset. Somewhere which has a small rollerblading place. It was nearly 12 by then. We decided to miss the last train =) and started chatting instead.
Details are secret =D (Actually I lazy to type bah. Hahas.)

The very first time i heard this song was during a manjong session at elaine's house...Even though i watch the very same show that they all did..I don't recall hearing this song -__-"
I guess that show alot about how bad my hearing is =(

At first, didn't really find the song that nice..haha..but over some repeated playing..find it rather nice..haha..(currently hearing it =X )

I guess there are alot of small and tiny things around us that slip past us, especially in this fast pace lifesytle. So i guess we should slow down sometime, and take a good look at the people and places around us. We may discover something wonderful that we never thought possible...
